Galatasaray star Wesley Sneijder revealed that the Netherlands national team will miss Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar in the European championship 2016 group stage game against Turkey on 28 March.

“The absence of Ron Vlaar is a blow for us,” Sneijder was quoted as saying in Der Telegraaf.

“But I have been in situations like this before, so I know it does not help to think about it too much. We will do everything within our power to beat Turkey.”

Sneijder is expected to start against the Crescent-Stars and knows Turkish football well having played at Galatasaray for the past two seasons.
