Liverpool bound Marko Grujic has revealed that he spoke with his Serbian compatriot Lazar Markovic about joining Liverpool.
Markovic – who is currently on a season long loan at Fenerbahce – gave Liverpool a ringing endorsement.
“I spoke with Lazar Markovic and he told me good things about the club,” Grujic was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
“He told me that Liverpool is a great club, that the pressure and expectations are enormous, and that the first two to three months are the most important.”
Markovic has established himself as a first team player in the current Fenerbahce side that are first in the league and also competing in the Europa League as well as the Turkish Cup.
The Serbian international is reported to have impressed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s scouts and could feature in his plans next season.
The 21-year-old winger has two goals and three assists in 19 appearances for the Yellow Canaries this season which is already more than he achieved at the Reds under Brendan Rodgers.
