Kasımpaşa defender Kenneth Omeruo has wished his followers a happy Nigerian independence day on his Instagram account.
Nigerians celebrated the 55th anniversary of the country’s independence today and Omeruo shared a picture of himself alongside the Nigerian flag with the caption: “#happyindependenceday to all Nigerian all over the world.. #nigeria.”
Omeruo joined Kasımpaşa on-loan from Chelsea over the summer transfer window and is currently one of two Blues players plying their trade in Turkey – the other being Marko Marin at Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian international has been one of the Istanbul minnows most impressive players this season helping his side keep the best defensive record in the league. Kasımpaşa have kept three clean sheets and conceded just three goals in six Turkish Super League games.
The 21-year-old defender is currently out injured for a fortnight after having to be substituted off on 9 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Rizespor on the weekend.
Omeruo will miss the Nigerian national team games against October friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroun next month.
