Fenerbahce winger Lazar Markovic has been ruled out of action until the end of the season with a hamstring injury.
The on-loan Liverpool winger was expected to return to action next week but the latest tests have shown that his injury was more severe than initially thought.
The Turkish newspaper Milliyet stated that Markovic has traveled to Portugal in order to be treated by FC Porto’s medical team.
Markovic was also reported to have consulted advice from Liverpool club doctors after visiting England.
The former Benfica man has missed 96 days due to injuries and been forced to miss 20 games for Fenerbahce as a result.
Markovic had established himself as a first team regular until his most recent hamstring injury which has seen him ruled out for the past 61 days.
Fenerbahce are currently second in the Turkish Super League three points behind leaders Besitkas but the Canaries do have a game in hand.
