Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has beat his rival Lionel Messi to land the inaugural Best Fifa Football Awards in Zurich today.
The 31-year-old also finished ahead of the France international Antoine Griezmann to win the prestigious prize.
It has been quite a year for the experinced forward who also won the Ballon d’Or in December. Ronaldo has had a year to remember after winning both the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.
Meanwhile, Leicester City’s incredible title win did not go unnoticed after Claudio Ranieri was named best men’s coach.
Ronaldo was also included in the 2016 FIFA Pro World XI.
