Besiktas have joined the race for 19-year-old Stuttgart wonder-kid Berkay Ozcan who has also attracted Arsenal interest.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that they have been keeping close tabs on Ozcan.

The Black Eagles do have a history of signing young players of Turkish origin from Western Europe.

Several star players in the current Besiktas side including former Arsenal midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, Cenk Tosun and Gokhan Tore were born outside Turkey but are Turkish international players.

Arsenal have also expressed an interest in Ozcan according to his agent Baris Yukselsen.

London.Football quoted Yukselsen as saying: “Many top clubs are interested at Berkay.

“Arsenal has Berkay on its list, but at the moment he is focusing on Stuttgart’s resurgence.”

Turkish-Football recently reported that the North London outfit have been monitoring a Turkish player in Germany.

“I have been scouting a Turkish kid in Germany, I watched him 2-3 weeks ago, he plays in central midfield,” Kost was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“I won’t give his name yet but he is very talented and we are considering signing him.”
