Revealed: Anderson Talisca beats Man United youngster to win the UEFA Player of the Week award

UEFA have revealed that Besiktas star Anderson Talisca was voted Europa League Player of the Week.

The UEFA Player of the Week went to the Brazilian attacking midfielder for his brilliant display against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals.

The 23-year-old scored a brace against the French giants, giving his side the lead twice over the 90 minutes.

Talisca scored the opening goal in the first half before Lyon found an equaliser soon after.

The attacking midfielder then scored a powerful header early in the second half to force extra time.

Talisca even converted his penalty in the shoot out but it was to no avail as Lyon ended up going through.

Talisca won 53 percent of the vote on the official UEFA website.

Schalke defender Sead Kolisinac came in at second place with 24 percent of the vote.

Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford who setup the opening goal and scored the winning in the 2-1 victory over Anderlecht meanwhile receive 19 percent of the votes.

Celta Vigo defender Mallo picked up just four percent of the votes and came last out of the top four.
