Revealed: Besiktas join Man United & Liverpool in sharing Champions League record

Besiktas made Champions League history following their 1-1 draw against Porto becoming the first Turkish side to finish the group stages as leaders.

The Black Eagles secured a first place finish with a game to spare following the draw in Istanbul.

Porto took the lead but Anderson Talisca equalised to take the reigning Super Lig champions point tally to 11 points.

Besiktas will qualify as leaders regardless of what happens on Match Day 6 against Red Bull Leipzig.

The Eagles became the first Turkish side to beat Porto away from home on Match Day 1, going onto record wins against Monaco and Red Bull Leipzig before drawing their last two games.

The Istanbul giants are one of eight sides left in the Champions League that remain unbeaten.

Besiktas, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, PSG, Barcelona, Tottenham and AS Roma have yet to be defeated in the tournament.

United, City and PSG are the only sides to have won all their games however, the Citizens have played an additional game.

PSG and United play their Match Day 5 games tonight.
