Samed Yesil could make Premier League debut following Daniel Sturridge's injury

Liverpool youngster Samed Yeşil could make his Premier League debut this season following an injury to Daniel Sturridge which could see him sidelined for the rest of the season.

Sturridge has been ruled out with hip and thigh injuries and has not played since the FA Cup quarter-final win over Blackburn on 8 April.

When asked to comment on his strikers injury situation Brendan Rodgers stated,“We’ll see if he’s going to be back this season or pre-season.”

The Liverpool manager may now be tempted to introduce Yesil to the Premier League following an impressive string of performances for the U21 side.

Yeşil only recently recovered from a double cruciate ligament injury that has seen him spend most of the season on the sidelines.

The young striker now has four goals in seven U21 appearances for the Reds this season.

Liverpool have five Premier League games remaining as they look to chase the final qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League.
