The Spanish sports newspaper Marca has criticised Arda Turan for his performance during Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla on Sunday.
The 29-year-old was included in Luis Enrique’s starting line-up and was taken off in the 64th minute in place of Andres Iniesta.
According to Marca, Turan is struggling to fit into Barcelona’s system, where as El Mundo Deportivo said that the Turkish international is a long way off his form at Atletico Madrid which earned him a move to the Champions League champions.
Barcelona ended up matching rivals Real Madrid record breaking 34 match unbeaten streak which went back to the 1998-99 season.
Sevilla actually opened the scoring when Vitolo scored on 20 minutes but Ballon d’Or 2015 winner Lionel Messi equalised just 10 minutes later with a brilliant free-kick.
Barcelona kept their six point gap ahead of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table following the victory over Sevilla.
