‘Take the money and move on’ – Stuart Pearce feels Arsenal should sell star player

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil continues to divide opinion among pundits and fans over whether he should stay of leave.

Ozil has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign a new deal.

Former England international and football pundit Stuart Pearce is of the opinion that Arsenal should cash in on Ozil.

Pearce does however, believe that the Gunners should keep hold of Alexis Sanchez who also has under 12 months on his deal.

Stuart Pearce told Sky Sports News: “He [Sanchez] would have been a massive blow for Arsenal if he left the football club in my opinion.

“Ozil, part of me thinks if they get good money for Ozil, take the money and move on.

“But Sanchez definitely not, he’s absolutely critical to Arsenal.

“They’ve done well to hang on to him. Will they keep him in January or get some money for him?”

Ozil has not featured in the Gunners last few games due to a knee injury.

The playmaker of Turkish origin was also left out of the Germany national team call up as a result of his injury.

The 28-year-old is expected to return in time for the North London based outfit ahead of their next game against Watford at Vicarage Road after the international break.

Ozil has yet to provide an assist or score a goal for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
