Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed interest in Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan in his latest press conference.
Orman stated that he would like Turan at the club next season but underlined that Besiktas will not make a move for the Turkish international midfielder until the Josa Sosa situation is sorted out.
Sosa’s future at the club remains in doubt after he handed in a transfer request. Besiktas rejected the Argentinian attacking midfielder’s demand and are currently in talks trying to resolve the situation.
“We are going to make our decision on pushing for Arda Turan once we resolve the issue with Jose Sosa but currently we have not made an offer,” Orman said.
Besiktas have been linked with trying to sign Turan on a one-year loan deal next season that would see the Istanbul giants cover his wages for a season.
The Sun reports that Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are also also in the race to sign the bearded midfielder and that he could be available for £20 million – almost a third less than what Barca paid for him last season.
Turan is currently training with the Barcelona squad and is expected to be in the team that will face Celtic in Dublin next week.
