Turkish giants set to increase offer after initial talks with Liverpool midfielder stall, Arda Turan’s agent given mandate to negotiate deal

Trabzonspor are set to increase their offer for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva after initial talks stalled.

Fotomac report initial talks between Lucas and Liverpool hit a stumbling block after the Brazilian started demanding higher wages.

Per the source, Trabzonspor pulled out of negotiations but are set to renter with an improved offer.

The Black Sea based side will continue to use Arda Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut to lead the talks.

Trabzonspor gave Bulut a mandate to operate on their behalf.

Turkish clubs regularly use Bulut to hold talks on their behalf for transfers outside of Turkey.

Lucas has just over 12 months remaining on his contract but the Reds are reported to be open to allowing Lucas to leave as a free transfer.

The midfielder is currently the most experienced member of the Liverpool squad having made 346 appearances in all competitions.

Lucas has been at Liverpool for 10 seasons having joined Gremio in 2007.

The Brazilian ace made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season. .
