Three Arsenal academy players will star in Champions League Last 16 for Tottenham, Chelsea & Besiktas

Arsenal did not qualify for the Champions League this season but three former academy players have been doing a pretty decent job in the European competition.

Harry Kane, Oguzhan Ozyakup and Cesc Fabregas all spent time in the Gunners academy.

Kane spent just a year at his North London rivals as did Fabregas, meanwhile Ozyakup spent four seasons at the club.

Fabregas was however, the only player out of the three to break into the senior side and play regular first team football.

Kane has played a key role in Tottenham reaching the Champions League Last 16 in what was billed the group of death featuring Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Ozyakup meanwhile make six Champions League appearances playing an important role in his side making history.

Besiktas became the first Turkish side to finish the group stage as leaders and they managed to do so with a game in hand.

The Black Eagles also became the first Super Lig side to end the group stage unbeaten – winning four and drawing two.

Ozyakup left Arsenal for Besiktas five years ago on a €500,000 move.

The star midfielder also played an important role in Besiktas winning back to back league titles over the past two seasons.

Arsenal meanwhile take on BATE in the Europa League tonight.
