Turkey took a blow to their chances of qualifying for the Euro 2016 tournament after being held to a 1-1 draw against Latvia yesterday at the Konya Torku Arena.
Barcelona star Arda Turan played his first game since joining the reigning La Liga champions.
Despite joining in the summer Turan is unable to play a professional game for the Champions League title holders due to the FIFA transfer ban. The restrictions only apply to domestic football meaning the bearded winger was available against Latvia.
The 28-year-old played an influential role in the game pulling the strings in the final third and mesmerising his opponents with silky skills.

Turan also provided the pass that led to Galatasaray captain Selçuk Inan opening the scoring.

Turkey looked to have won the game which would have taken them above the Netherlands into third place following their 1-0 loss against Iceland.
Latvia however, had the last laugh and scored in the first minute of additional time.
Turkey take on the Dutch national team next at the Konya Torku Arena needing a win to move into the third-place play-off spot.
