Barcelona crushed Getafe 6-0 at the Camp Nou to make history yet again by extending their already unprecedented 36 match unbeaten run to 37 games.
Arda Turan started for Barca and provided Lionel Messi with an assist for the fourth goal just before the half-time whistle.
Turan passed the ball to Messi outside the penalty area before making a clever forward run which dragged two Getafe players out of position which in turn provided the Ballon d’Or 2015 winner with extra space to work his magic.
The bearded winger ended up getting on the scoresheet himself in the second half when he hit the back of the net with a bicycle kick just outside the six-yard box.
The goal wrapped up an all round terrific display from the Turkish international who worked assiduously in midfield while also contributing in the final third. It is also worth noting that Turan passed at a 97 percent accuracy – highest in the game.
Messi scored once provided three assists and even missed a penalty. Neymar bagged a brace, Munir who came in for Suarez scored and Juan Rodriguez scored an own goal.
Barcelona have now won all 15 games in which the 29-year-old has played in for Barcelona and is nearing in on Alex Song’s record for most consecutive wins in the league for a new transfer (12) – Turan is currently on 11 consecutive league wins.
Turan has scored four goals and provided two assists for Barca since making his debut against Espanyol in January.
