To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Ozil has taken to social media to show his attempt at speaking a new language.
The 27-year-old playmaker uploaded a video of himself learning how to say ‘Happy New Year’ in Chinese.
Ozil included the following caption along with the video, “I like the Chinese language … but it’s not so easy to pronounce Happy Chinese New Year! #YearOfTheMonkey.”

Ozil was born in 1988, the year of the dragon, meaning he is lucky, flexible, eccentric, imaginative, artistic, spiritual and charismatic.
This year it’s the Year of the Monkey, the ninth animal in the cycle. The next Year of the Monkey will be in 2028.
Ozil now has six goals in all competitions this season as well as 16 assists in the Premier League.
Arsenal kept their 22 unbeaten streak against Bournemouth following the win on Sunday. The north London based side takes on league leaders Leicester Ciy this weekend.
Ozil created the joint highest number of chances (2) just a week after breaking the Premier League record (10) in the goals draw against Southampton last week.
