Trabzonspor suffered a shock 6-1 home defeat at the hands of Akhisar yesterday.

The one positive for the home side was 18-year-old wonder kid Abdulkadir Omur scoring his first goal of the season.

Omur scored an impressive solo effort, dribbling into the penalty area before reacting to a fortunate deflection with a lovely finish.

Omur has attracted widespread interest after breaking into the Trabzonspor first team.

Former Trabzonspor manager Sadi Tekelioglu has confirmed reports that Arsenal want 18-year-old wonder-kid Abdulkadir Omur.

Tekelioglu also revealed that Atletico Madrid are in the race for the Turkey U-19 international.

“Arsenal want to sign Abdulkadir,” Tekelioglu was quoted as saying in the Sun.

“I heard that Atletico Madrid are interested in him as well. But Arsenal are ahead of them in the race to sign Omur.

“Arsene Wenger does a good job when it comes to discovering young players.

“Abdulkadir will be a success when he moves to Europe.”

The Aksam newspaper meanwhile reported that German giants Bayern Munich are preparing a move for the €38 million rated midfielder.

Omur has a total of one goal and two assist in five appearances for the Black Sea Storm in all competitions.

Emre Sarigul of Turkish-Football included Omur in the Guardian newspaper ‘Next Generation 2016: 60 of the best young talents in world football’ list last year.
