Wenger has personally watched £17.5m Arsenal attacking midfielder target Yusuf Yazici

Trabzonspor star Yusuf Yazici has attracted widespread interest since bursting onto the scene last January.

Turkish-Football have reported Arsenal scouting the 20-year-old midfielder in the past.

It turns out that Gunners head coach Arsene Wenger has actually personally watched the attacking midfielder in action according to his agent.

Yazici is represented by Dr Erkut Sogut who also happens to be the agent of Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan.

Adem Cebeci is also a representative of Yazici and was responsible for striking the deal with Dr Sogut.

Cebeci said, “Yusuf wants a move to Europe, Dr Erkut Sogut has been in talks with clubs and there is interest from the Premier League, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has watched Yusuf in person.”

Cebeci also stated that Dr Sogut is in advanced negotiations with more than one club.

Yazici has also been closely linked with Ligue 1 giants Monaco.

“Yusuf’s style of football makes him suitable for the top European league, Dr Sogut is in advanced talks with a few clubs but we think it would be in his interests to keep playing first team football at Trabzonspor and developing,” he added.

“But things are developing very fast and with the transfer fees being thrown around we can’t rule out a January move.”

The Trabzonspor playmaker has been likened to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and plays a similar position.

Yazici has two goals and two assists in all competitions for the Black Sea Storm this season.

The Turkish international scored six times and provided 10 assists in 22 games in his breakthrough season last campaign.

Trabzonspor value Yazici as being worth £17.5 million. The rising star has another another five-years remaining on his contract.
