West Ham Ace Made Besiktas Transfer Priority, Man United Also Linked

Besiktas have made West Ham striker Chicharito a transfer priority following the transfer of Cenk Tosun to Everton.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that efforts are being made to land the Mexico international.

Black Eagles president Fikret Orman has been in London with club officials trying to iron out a deal with two names in particular from a four-man shortlist comprised of Danny Welbeck, Chicharito, Islam Slimani and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Istanbul giants understand that Chicharito and Slimani are most likely to join.

Besiktas have not entered talks with Welbeck’s representatives and Arsenal do not appear willing to part ways with the England international.

Leicester City meanwhile are not keen on letting Iheanacho so soon after joining from Manchester City.

The Istanbul based outfit want Chicharito on loan until the end of the season with a buyout option.

Besiktas could however, face competition from Manchester United for Chicharito.

The Premier League giants made a preliminary inquiry for the Mexico international according to the Telegraph.

Per the source, the Red Devils are keen on strengthening their options up front and have their eye on Chicharito, Jamie Vardy and Alexis Sanchez.

Chicharito has struggled for playing time since the appointment of David Moyes and has fallen further down in the pecking order.

The 29-year-old would be offered first-team and Champions League football were he to make the move.
