West Ham target Slaven Bilic not leaving Besiktas says vice-president

Beşiktaş vice-president Ahmet Nur Çebi has released an official statement on the clubs official website that the Black Eagles are not considering getting rid of Slaven Bilic.

The Black Eagles were reported to be seeking alternatives to Bilic in sections of the Turkish press last week.

Çebi’s statement read: “Rumours that Bilic will leave or that we will replace him with Şenol Güneş are false.”

Slaven Bilic: “One day I would like to manager in the Premier League”

The Daily Star reported that Bilic is however, prepared to hold talks with West Ham to replace Sam Allardyce in the summer.

Allardyce’s contract runs out at the end of the season and the experienced manager is expected to leave the Hammers.

A number of former West Ham players including Alvin Martin have made Bilic their favourite to take over in the summer.

“I wouldn’t rule Slaven out. He’s been round the game for a while now. He’s proved he could do it at international level and club level in difficult circumstances,” Martin said speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on TalkSport.

“I know him. He’s a highly intelligent and highly motivated individual. I think he would be absolutely perfect for us [West Ham].

“Slaven is the outstanding candidate for me.”

Bilic has however, stated on several occasions that he still has a year left on his Beşiktaş contract and that he intends on staying at the club.
