Former Liverpool and Croatia international midfielder Igor Biscan has responded to reports that the Premier League giants have made an offer for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.
Reports in Turkey claim that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on a move for Dejan Lovren’s international teammate.
Biscan waxed lyrical about Vida, praising his defensive and goal-scoring ability.
“Domagoj Vida is a great player and a great centre back because of his size and his mobility,” former Croatia international Biscan told BetStars as quoted by the Daily Star.
“He brings a lot to a team and helps create great team spirit. His positioning and reading of the game is really good.
“He also scores a lot from set pieces so he can guarantee at least five goals per season, which is a great trait to have as a centre back.
“He would be a great addition to this Liverpool side.”
Vida has been in great form for Croatia over the course of the World Cup, playing an important role in his side reaching the semi-finals.
The powerful defender scored in extra-time and during the penalty shoot-out against Russia in the quarter-finals.
The Besiktas ace has attracted widespread interest following his impressing run of form.
Despite only joining the Black Eagles in January on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev, the club are open to a summer sale for the right price.
The centre-back is likely to start alongside Lovren in defence against England in the semi-final clash tonight.
