Agent denies Inter reaching £4.2m deal over Liverpool target Caner Erkin

Football agent Batur Altiparmak revealed to Turkish-football.com that Inter have not agreed a £4.2 million per-contract agreement with Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin.

Altiparmak told Turkish-football.com: “There have been enquiries but no formal offers have been made and no deal has been struck.”

Erkin was reported to have agreed to a £4.2 million per-agreement deal with Inter according to the Express.

Inter would be able to sign Erkin on a free-contract as he has just six-months remaining on his current contract with Fenerbahce.

Erkin is no stranger to Inter boss Roberto Mancini who coached rival Istanbul side Galatasaray. The Italian coach has already brought over two players from the Super League to Inter – Felipe Melo and Alex Telles.

Mancini could however, face competition from Liverpool who recently sent scouts to watch the Turkish international left-back during the Istanbul derby against Besiktas.

The Reds scouts were reported to have been impressed with Erkin and Besiktas full-back Ismail Koybasi.

Erkin has experience playing abroad for Russian giants CSKA Moscow and was also linked with a move to Russia as well as England last summer.

The in-form full-back has one goal and eight assists in 24 appearances for the Istanbul giants this season.
