Emre Can has revealed that he joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen last summer to win Premier League titles.
The Reds finished last season in sixth place but Can believes Liverpool will be crowned champions in the future.
‘’I did not go to Liverpool to play only football,’’ Can told the official German national team website.
‘’I want to win [Premier League] titles there. Nevertheless, I want to first win something with the U21s here.”
Liverpool have not won the league title for 25 years but are still one of the most successful clubs in English football having won a total of 18 championships and a total of 11 European trophies.
Can is currently on international duty with the Germany U21 national team at the U21 European Championships.
Germany will take on Serbia in their first group game on Thursday 17 June followed by Denmark on Saturday 20 June.
The 21-year-old was born in Germany but could represent either his country of birth or Turkey at senior level due to being of Turkish heritage.
