Turkish national team manager Fatih Terim underlined that his side showed what they are capable of against the Netherlands.

Turkey drew 1-1 against the Dutch national side at the Amsterdam Arena in the Euro 2016 Group A game.

“We proved ourselves against the Netherlands, we showed that we have the ability to play against the best teams,” Terim told Eurosport TR.

“We were forced into making changes due to injuries and lost out on the three points in the cruelest way but now we have a chance to make it to Euro 2016.”

The Crescent-Stars were leading 1-0 against Netherlands going into additional time at the end of the 90 minutes when Wesley Sneijder’s long range effort deflected off Huntelaar for the equaliser.

The Turkish national side remained in fourth place following the draw but could have overtaken Netherlands and moved into third place had they held on to the win.

Turkey will take on Luxembourg next in an International friendly on Tuesday 31 March.
