Galatasaray have joined the race for Thierry Henry to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

Henry recently revealed that he would leave New York Red Bulls after four-and-a-half years at the MLS outfit.

“The decision has always been that I would leave after the duration of my contract,” Henry said.

“I’ll take the next few weeks to decide on the next chapter of my career.”

Galatasaray are desperate to win their 20th title and earn the right to display four stars on their shirts before rivals Fenerbahçe.

The Lions and Fenerbahçe have both won the Süper Lig 19 times.

Galatasaray have had a transfer policy of bringing in experienced Premier League strikers approaching the twilight of their career.

The Turkish giants brought in Chelsea legend Didier Drogba in January 2013.

The Ivory Coast international won the league title, the Turkish Cup and reached the Champions League Last 16 at the club.

Arsenal, PSG, Monaco and Bordeaux have also joined the race to join Henry.
