Halilhodzic: Trabzonspor wont be champions

Trabzonspor’s former manager Vahid Halilhodzic has stated that it will take the Black Sea based club at least three years to win the league.

The experienced manager spoke to local reporters in Paris.

“The Trabzonspor President is my friend. We met and agreed that it would be best if I left. We parted in good spirits,” Halilhodzic said.

“The project needed allot more time. I was brought to the club to make Trabzonspor champions this season.

“However, when I arrived I realised it would take Trabzonspor at least three years before they could mount a serious title challenge.”

Halilhodzic also spoke about his future job prospects.

“I have received offers from France, anything could happen but I need some time to rest.”

Trabzonspor fired the former Algerian national team coach following a slow start to the league and for comments he made about his squad to the media.

Halilhodzic’s second spell at Trabzonspor lasted a total of 116 days. The experienced coach won four, drew eight and lost two of the 14 games he managed.
