Liverpool have once again been linked with a move for Hoffenheim playmaker Kerem Demirbay.

According to the German publication Bild, Liverpool are in contact with Demirbay’s representatives and have registered their interest with the 24-year-old.

Per the source, Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Demirbay before the transfer window slams shut tonight.

The report goes onto state that the Reds will be monitoring the German playmaker closely this season.

Bundesliga expert Lee Price has also recently claimed that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old midfielder. Price went onto tell the Express that Chelsea are also interested in Demirbay.

“The young midfielder impressed for Hoffenheim against Liverpool in the Champions League qualifier, and was seen chatting to Klopp at the end of the game,” Price told the Express.

“Spurs are thought to be leading the chase, as Liverpool have been concluding a deal for Naby Keita, while Chelsea have prioritised Danny Drinkwater of Leicester.

Demirbay opted to play for Germany national team instead of Turkey. The 24-year-old provided 10 assists and scored six goals in 29 appearances for Hoffenheim last term.

The young playmaker previously played for Hamburg, Kaiserslautern and Fortuna Dusseldorf before making the move to Hoffenheim last season.
