Man City boss sweats on star players fitness ahead of Man United derby clash

Manchester City take on Manchester United on Thursday in what could prove a pivotal clash in the race for a top four spot.

The Manchester derby will see fourth placed City take on fifth placed United. The rivals will play each other on Thursday in the Premier League for the first time since 1994.

City boss Pep Guardiola will be without Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan.

The 25-year-old is sidelined with a knee injury and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Guardiola is sweating over the fitness of three other key players in David Silva, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero who all went off injured against Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday.

All three players will be undergo tests by the medical staff to determine their availability.

The Spanish manager could have centre-back John Stones back after he missed the semi-final and we may see the return of long-term absentee Gabriel Jesus.

The Red Devils also face injury problems with Marcus Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic out injured for the rest of the season. Record summer signing Paul Pogba is a doubt going into the clash.
