Rizespor and Eskişehirspor are in a battle to sign Trabzonspor’s out of favour defender Aykut Demir according to the Turkish newspaper Sabah. The 26-year-old who was signed with great hopes from Gençlerbirliği back in 2013 has lost his place in the team and is reportedly unhappy with the situation at the club.

The Netherlands born defender has struggled to find playing time at Trabzon this season and is looking for a way out in January. Gençlerbirliği are also understood to be preparing a January bid for Demir. The 26-year-old moved to Trabzonspor from the Ankara based side for €3 million in 2013. Demir spent four seasons at Gençlerbirliği after joining them on a free transfer in 2009.
