Mehmet Ekici
The Turkish international first made a name for himself as a hot talent while developing at the Bayern Munich youth academy but fell off the boil after an injury ridden spell at Werder Bremen. Ekici has kickstarted his career at Trabzonspor earning himself a reputation as a set-piece master. The central midfielder provided the joint highest number of assists alongside Hakan Çalhanoğlu (11) for Turkish international players this season. UEFA declared Ekici a ‘free kick-master’ following his set-piece exploits and he scored five direct free-kick goals last season. The Trabzonspor star was statistically the Süper Lig player of the season according to Whoscored with a 7.71 rating and still has plenty of years ahead of him being aged just 25.
