Man United transfer news: Euro giants reveal latest transfer saga involving Red Devils star midfielder

Turkish Super League champions Besiktas have poured cold water on reports linking them with a move for Man United star Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgium international’s twin brother sparked a media storm when he was spotted in Istanbul last week.

Fellaini returned to first-team football over the weekend during Man United’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato,  Besiktas’ director of sport Ali Naibi has cooled talk of any interest in the Man United star.

“Reports in England claim we are interested in Fellaini because his brother has come to watch a couple of our games but I must be honest and say there is nothing concrete,” said Naibi.

“We are not in talks with the player nor with Manchester United.”

Fellaini has been frequently deployed by United boss Jose Mourinho this season however, he has under 12 months remaining on his contract with the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Besiktas press officer Metin Albayrak recently confirmed talks with the combative midfielder.

“Transfer plans never end, we are always working,” Albayrak was quoted by Turkish-Football as saying:

“Fellaini is on our list, we have made efforts to sign him but not just him.”

Besiktas are currently first in their Champions League Group and have lifted the Turkish Super League title for the past two seasons.

Man United take host Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the next league fixture on November 18.
