A number of former West Ham players including Alvin Martin have recently backed Bilic as being the right man to take over in the summer.

Allardyce’s contract runs out at the end of the season and the 60 year old head coach is expected to part ways with the club.

“I wouldn’t rule Slaven out. He’s been round the game for a while now. He’s proved he could do it at international level and club level in difficult circumstances,” Martin said speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on TalkSport.

The former Croatian national team manager does however, have another year left on his contract and has stated in the past that he wants to stay at the club.

Bilic also recently had a daughter in Istanbul and has settled into life in Turkey.

The 46-year-old spent 18 months at the West Ham as a player and enjoyed managerial stints in charge of Croatia and Spartak Moscow before joining the Black Eagles.
