Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba scores 27th goal for Besiktas

Beşiktaş’ Senegalese international striker Demba Ba scored his 27th goal of the season against Akhisar Belediyespor yesterday [Thursday] however, it was not enough to secure a win as the Black Eagles drew 1-1.

Akhisar took the lead from a well worked set piece early on in the first half. Ba scored a header from a corner to level the score in the 54th minute.

The 29-year-old is currently the second highest goalscorer in the Turkish Super Lig behind Bursaspor forward Fernandao who has scored 22 goals in the league.

Ba has a total of 27 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances in all competitions since joining from Chelsea in the summer.

The Black Eagles sit in third place with 66 points behind their rivals Fenerbahce and leaders Galatasaray.
