Ilkay Gündoğan turned down €125,000-a-week offer from the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund according to the German tabloid Bild.
The report states that the €6.5 million per year deal wasn’t enough to convince Gündoğan to stay and that the 24-year-old is seeking an increase on Dortmund’s offer at the next club he joins.
The wage demands were too high for Bayern Munich who have subsequently pulled out of the race to sign Gündoğan.
The report goes onto state that Gündoğan could see out the remaining year on his contract at Dortmund before pushing for a lucrative free transfer next summer.
