Ilkay Gündoğan has been told that he has no future in Dortmund and that he will leave in the summer according to the club’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
“We did not want him to leave but he wanted to go. We have told him that we will sell him in the Summer and focus on our plans,” Watzke was quoted as saying by spox.
Watzke recently confirmed that Gündoğan has a number of clubs interested in him according to Goal.
“There are certainly a number of interested parties,” Watzke said.

The 24-year-old has been closely linked with Manchester United and Barcelona over recent weeks.
United are reported to be monitoring the Dortmund midfielder according to the Telegraph and his girlfriends recent Instagram post showing a flightboard with Manchester written on it caused a social media storm.
The Premier League giants will however, face stiff competition from Barcelona.
Gündoğan traveled to Barcelona on Monday according to a report in the German newspaper Bild and also passed a medical for the La Liga giants according to Mundo Deportivo.
