Fenerbahçe board member Ilhan Ekşioğlu stated that nothing had changed regarding the Robin Van Persie deal following recent comments made by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
The United boss refused to comment on the Dutch striker’s imminent exit from the club which led to reports in the Turkish media suggesting that the deal could be off.
Speaking at Memphis Depay’s signing ceremony Van Gaal was quoted by Goal as saying: “When we feel he is gone, you will hear from Manchester United. We don’t have that feeling yet.”
Ekşioğlu tweeted: “Regarding Robin van Persie nothing has changed between the club and himself. We expect to announce his arrival date imminently.”
