Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie has arrived in Istanbul, Turkey ahead of his transfer to Fenerbahçe.
The Netherlands international striker landed on a private jet provided by Fenerbahçe at the Sabiha Gökçen airport alongside his family.
Van Persie was welcomed by over thousand fans who filled the grounds outside the airport to greet their new striker.
The 31-year-old will officially sign his three-year deal tomorrow in-front of the Fenerbahçe fans at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.
As reported by Turkish-football.com’s Emre Sarıgül and the Guardian’s Marcus Christenson on Thursday Fenerbahçe struck a deal with Manchester United over the transfer of Van Persie last week.
The Dutch star has become the second player to join Fenerbahçe from United within the span of a single week.
Nani was also welcomed by over thousand fans at the same airport based on the Asian side of Istanbul last Sunday.
The Portuguese international signed a three-year deal at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium on Monday in-front of thousands of a Fenerbahçe supporters.
