Besiktas have joined the race to sign Mario Gomez from Fiorentina according to Radyospor.
The Turkish sports radio station claim that Besiktas have set aside €4 million to loan the Germany international for the season. The report goes onto state that Gomez is open to a move to the Turkish Super League this summer.

Galatasaray withdrew their interest in Gomez yesterday evening after failing to agree a loan-fee with the Serie A side.
The Istanbul giants sold Demba Ba to Shanghai Shenhua for €14 million last month and are in the market for a replacement striker.
The Independent stated that Liverpool are considering swapping Mario Balotelli with Mario Gomez.
Gomez has a grand total of 166 goals in 308 appearances in all competitions throughout his professional career.
Balotelli joined Liverpool from AC Milan for €20 million but has managed to score just four goals in 28 appearances.
The 24-year-old has previously played for Manchester City, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Lumezzane.
