10 clubs wanted Man City wonderkid says Bursaspor president

Bursaspor president Recep Bölükbaşı revealed that 10 other clubs wanted Manchester City striker Enes Ünal.

City signed Ünal for a £2 million fee on a three-year deal beating 10 other clubs to the 18-year-old’s signature.

“They have wanted Enes since he was 16 years old, we had a €500,000 offer for him which the former president rejected. About 10 other clubs wanted him but he let him join Manchester City and now we have started gaining greater recognition outside Turkey,” Bölükbaşı was quoted as saying on NTV Spor.

Ünal recently made his debut for City in the 2-0 win over Adelaide United at the Cbus Stadium.

The young striker made a second half appearance in the comfortable victory over the Australian side.

The Turkish international was included in the pre-season City squad that will tour Australia and participate in the Intercontinental Championship Cup.

Ünal is set to be loaned out after the Australia tour a close source told Turkish-football.com.

The young strıker holds the record as being the youngest player to ever score in the Süper Lig in 2013 when he netted against Galatasaray.

The Turkish international was recently listed in the Guardian as one of the 40 best young talents in world football.
