Speaking live on the Beyaz Tv Turkish football pundit Ertem Şener claimed that United are expected to make a €26 million offer before the transfer deadline.
The Turkish international already has two goals to his name this season and has built a reputation as being a set-piece specialist. Çalhanoğlu takes just about ever corner for his side and has a phenomenal free-kick scoring record – 22 in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old played a key role in his side knocking Lazio out of the Champions League play-off stages 3-1 on aggregate. Çalhanoğlu scored the opening goal in the 3-0 win at the BayArena.
The young player maker joined Bayer from HSV on a €15 million deal last season and has another four-years remaining on his contract.
Çalhanoğlu is the sixth most valuable U-21 player in the world according to a recent study conducted by Soccerex.
The 21-year-old has also attracted the interest of leading Serie A and Spanish clubs.
