Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin could be set to join Arda Turan at Barcelona according to Mundo Deportivo.
The report claims that Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez has included Thauvin on the transfer shortlist and that the Champions League title holders could make a move for the England international in January.
Barcelona are looking to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season following injury to Rafinha who could be out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
Thauvin did however, only join the Magpies over the summer transfer window for a £12.85 million transfer fee and still has another five-years left on his contract.
The 22-year-old has a total of one goals and two assists in seven appearances for Newcastle in all competitions.
The La Liga champions are currently serving a FIFA transfer ban which restricts the club from registering new signings. However, Barcelona would be able to register any new transfers after January.
Barcelona signed Arda Turan on a five-year deal from rivals Atletico Madrid last month but the bearded winger cannot play a professional club game until January 4 2016.
Barcelona signed Arda Turan on a £24 million move from Atletico Madrid over the summer window but are unable to register the Turkish international until the turn of the year.
The Spanish giants are currently first in the league following a convincing 4-1 win over Levante today at the Camp Nou.
