The Serbian international struggled to settle in at Liverpool last season following a £17.5 million transfer from Benfica. Markovic scored three times and provided just a single assist in 34 appearances for the Reds.

The 21-year-old joined Fenerbahçe on a one-year loan over the summer in pursuit of regular first team football and provided an assist in his first start for his new club over the weekend.

Markovic setup Luis Nani with the opening goal against Bursaspor at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium. The Yellow Canaries went onto win the game 2-1 and move three points clear at the top of the table.

The Serbian international made the highest number of dribbles for Fenerbahçe one of which led to the opening goal as well as two key passes and one assist over the course of the game.

Fenerbahçe take on Beşiktaş next in the first Istanbul derby of the season; Markovic is expected to feature in the match.
