Arsenal star Mesut Özil has stated that his side will bounce back from their Champions League group stage defeat against Dinamo Zagreb a fortnight ago.
The Gunners succumbed to a shock 2-1 loss against the Croatian giants but can get their campaign back on track with a win over Olympiakos at the Emirates tonight.
“Of course the first game didn’t go well for us but we have a lot of matches in front of us that we want to do well,” Özil told the official Arsenal website.
Özil even went as far to suggest that the defeat could end up working in their favour in the long run as they will be even more determined to make up for the disappointment against Zagreb.
“We’re developing ourselves further as a team, defeats always rouse the team more,” he said.
Özil provided an assist in the Gunners 5-2 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on the weekend. The World Cup winner now has three assists in all competitions this season.
The 26-year-old is expected to start for the north London based side against Olympiakos today. The Gunners are currently 3rd in Group F and ahead of the Olmypiakos on goal difference.
The Greek giants lost their first game of the group stages 3-0 at home against Bayern Munich.
