Manchester City younger Enes Ünal revealed that he chose the Citizens over Chelsea this summer due to differences in youth player policy.
Ünal stated that Chelsea have so many players out on loan that it is difficult to get established in the first team whereas City have a far more selective process.
“Chelsea have around 50 players out on loan whereas City have about 15 and these are players like Dzeko and Jovetic,” Ünal told the official Turkish Football Federation website.
“City are investing a lot in young players and have plans to use them in the future.”
The Blues have two players currently on loan in Turkey; 21-year-old Kenneth Omeruo at Kasımpaşa and Germany international Marko Marin at Trabzonspor.
Ünal revealed that Chelsea also made him an offer over the summer but that he opted for City.
“One of the other teams that wanted me was Chelsea but I decided to join Manchester City because they had shown more interest and were really keen in bringing me in,” he added.
Ünal become the youngest player to ever have scored in the Süper Lig when he netted against Turkish giants Galatasaray on 1 August 2013.
The Turkish international went onto score seven times for Bursaspor despite being given limited playing time.
The 18-year-old scored one goal in 197 minutes of first team football last season and also provided two assists in the Europa League qualification stages.
