Newcastle United are keeping close tabs on Beşiktaş winger midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.
The article stated that the Magpies have been scouting the Turkish international midfielder after an impressive start to the season.
Newcastle could however, face competition from fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and West Ham – both whom share a history with Özyakup.
The 22-year-old was under the stewardship of current Hammers boss Slaven Bilic for the last two seasons during his time in charge of Beşiktaş.
Bilic guided the Black Eagles to the Europa League quarter-finals and a third placed finish in the league last season.
Özyakup will of course be a familiar name to Arsenal youth football aficionados. The Turkish international midfielder played a major role in Gunners Under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009 and made a few appearances in cup competitions for the Gunners before joining Beşiktaş in 2012 for a fee of €500,000.
The Turkish international midfielder still has another three-years left on his contract and Beşiktaş value him as being worth €20 million.
Özyakup has had an impressive start to the season providing three assists and scoring once in six league games.
