Chelsea legend and football pundit Pat Nevin believes that recently appointed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will get the best out of Emre Can.
Nevin praised Klopp for playing Can in his strongest position and believes the 21-year-old has a bright future at the club under the stewardship of his new boss.
“I think Emre Can will have a good future [under Klopp]. He will get the best out of Can,” Nevin told Newstalk’s Off The Ball.
“He immediately put him in the position that he should have been played in all along [midfield].”
Can was played out of position as a defender in Brendan Rodgers back-three for most of last season and also as a right-back.
The 21-year-old has also played for Germany as a full-back under Joachim Low following his first call-up to the senior national team side last month.
Can is one of two ethnic Turks born in Germany in the current Liverpool side with the other being Samed Yeşil who has been loaned out.
Klopp replaced Rodgers after he was sacked following the 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
