Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic slammed his former manager Brendan Rodgers in a recent interview with A Bola.
Markovic struggled for playing time under Rodgers and criticised his former boss for playing him out of position.
“I didn’t have a good relationship with the coach,” Markovic told Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
“That was a problem.
“I played in many positions but didn’t play in mine.”
The 21-year-old was used as a wingback in Rodgers 3-4-3 but failed to adapt to the position and was allowed to leave on temporary move at the end of the season.
The Serbian international was loaned out to Fenerbahçe over the summer transfer window and has already established himself as an important member of the team.
Markovic was signed during the Rodgers era for a £20 million fee from Benfica in the summer of 2014.
Rodgers was sacked following the 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby and replaced by German manager Jurgen Klopp.
Markovic is expected to start for Fenerbahçe against Ajax in the Europa League midweek and against Galatasaray in the Intercontinental derby on the weekend.
