Arsenal beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates to move into first place in the Premier League.
Mesut Özil setup Olivier Giroud with the opening goal when his delightful cross met the head of the Frenchman.
Giroud was full of praise for the World Cup winner following the game and underlined that he has a great understanding with him.
“It was a fantastic ball from Mesut. We have a good understanding on the pitch and I’m pleased for the team because we have given a really great performance with [plenty of] dedication and commitment,” Giroud told Arsenal’s Final Whistle.
Özil now has five assists in his last four league games for the Gunners. The World Cup winner has a total of six assists and two goals this season including goals against Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
The north London based side managed to end the week in first place after Manchester City were held to a goalless draw against Manchester United in the derby.
The Gunners take on Sheffield Wednesday next in the Carling Cup on Tuesday followed by Swansea in the Premier League.
