Former Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann believes that Arsenal star Mesut Özil has improved since his record breaking £42.5 million move from Real Madrid in 2013.
Lehmann believes that Özil has become stronger and improved physically since joining the Gunners.
“Özil has become a better professional now since he is in England because he has adapted to the English style of game where he has put on some muscles and resilience,” Lehmann said before the Arsenal – Bayern Munich game on BT Sport.
Arsenal ended up losing the Champions League group stage game against Bayern Munich 5-1 which has put booking a place in the next round in doubt.
The Gunners are however, currently fist in the Premier League and Özil has played a key role in the north London based sides recent success.
The 27-year-old has provided a total of nine assists in 10 league games this season which is the highest in Europe’s top five leagues – England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy.
Arsenal take on bitter rivals Tottenham next in the north London derby at the Emirates and Özil is expected to start.
